What a Tumble is
A Tumble (also called a cascade or avalanche in other Pragmatic Play games) is the process where winning fruits explode off the grid and new fruits fall in from above. The grid never just sits there with a paid cluster on it — once the cluster pays, those fruits disappear and the empty spaces get filled.
If the new arrangement contains another cluster, that cluster pays too. And then those fruits explode and new ones fall in. The chain continues until the grid finally arrives at a state with no clusters.
That's a Tumble chain. One paid spin can produce many.
The mechanical loop in detail
Here's exactly what happens after you press spin:
- Initial fill. The 7×7 grid populates with random fruits based on the symbol distribution.
- Scan. The game checks every cell for cluster membership. Any cluster of 5+ matching connected fruits is marked.

What triggers a Tumble
Any winning cluster triggers a Tumble. There's no scatter requirement, no bonus state, no special condition. The mechanic runs on every paid spin in both the base game and Free Spins.
If your initial spin produces no cluster, no Tumble happens. The game just waits for your next spin.
What ends a Tumble chain
The chain ends when no new cluster forms after the cascade. Sometimes this happens after the first cluster (a single Tumble — pay once, no chain). Sometimes it happens after 7 cascades.
The end is determined by the random fill. Each cascade brings new randomly-selected fruits. If they don't connect into a cluster, the chain ends.

Why Tumbles matter for the bankroll
A medium-volatility slot like Fruit Party would be much less fun without Tumbles. Without them, the average paying spin would return ~0.3× stake. With Tumbles chaining 2-3 cascades on average, the average paying spin returns ~0.7× stake.

Tumbles + random multipliers — where it gets exciting

The Tumble mechanic in Free Spins is mechanically identical, with one major difference: the multiplier sum carries across the entire Free Spins round, not just one spin's chain.
So if Spin 1 of Free Spins produces a 20× multiplier on a cluster, Spin 2's cluster gets the 20× plus any new multipliers spawned. By Spin 7-10, the accumulated multiplier total can be in the hundreds.

Tumble velocity — how fast does this happen?
Pragmatic Play's Tumble animations are tuned for visual readability:
- Each cascade takes ~1.2 seconds from explosion to re-scan.
- A 5-Tumble chain takes ~6 seconds start to finish.
